Traditional custom orthotics are often created from a cast or scan of your feet while you're standing still. Whilst this provides an excellent picture of the shape of your feet, it doesn't always tell the full story about how they function when you're walking. Phits orthotics take a different approach by combining the expertise of your Podiatrist with detailed movement data gathered during your biomechanical assessment, allowing us to create an orthotic that's designed around the way you actually move.
How we build your orthotics
If, following your biomechanical assessment, your Podiatrist feels custom orthotics are the right option for you, we'll use the information gathered by our Footscan pressure analysis system to begin the design process. As you walk across the Footscan plate, thousands of pressure sensors measure how your feet load with every step, highlighting areas of increased pressure, imbalance and altered movement patterns. Your Podiatrist then combines this information with the findings from your examination to design an orthotic tailored specifically to your needs before it is manufactured using advanced 3D printing technology.

Price of Orthotics
Our Phits custom orthotics are competitively priced at £345, which is much cheaper that the custom orthotics of old. And remember, they're not simply insoles - they're individually designed prescription orthotics, created specifically for the way you move. By combining detailed Footscan analysis with the experience of your Podiatrist, they're tailored to support your unique biomechanics and treatment goals. If they're the right solution for you, many patients find they're one of the best investments they can make in staying active, moving comfortably, and enjoying life without pain getting in the way.
That said, we also believe in giving people options. Phits are fantastic, but they aren't automatically the right answer for everyone for a number of reasons. We're honest and transparent about affordability, so we continue to offer a range of excellent off-the-shelf orthotics too, typically priced around £60. We carefully heat-mould these to your feet, and for many people they're a brilliant solution. If that's all you need, we'll tell you. Our job isn't to fit everyone with the same style of orthotic - it's to recommend the one that's genuinely right for you, your lifestyle, and your wallet too.
